The Loren Piretra Show is a daily podcast and YouTube show. I worked for Loren for several months as a graphic designer, writer, and video editor. This was a rebranding project we accomplished during my time with her.
PROJECT SCOPE: Branding, Podcast Cover Art, Logos, Social Media Assets
PROJECT DURATION: August 2026, 2 Weeks
TOOLS USED: Illustrator, Photoshop
The Loren Piretra Show is a daily news comedy show that cuts through the noise, the spin, and the nonsense, giving you real insight with a side of humor. Loren brings sharp perspective, real world experience, and a no-nonsense attitude, making complex political issues, understandable. She wanted her branding to represent her witty, dry-humor and the energy of her podcast.
Designing The Podcast Cover Art
Loren did not have a clear image of what she wanted for her cover art, so I led her through the process, showing her what she thought she wanted, and guiding her towards options that I felt better communicated the message she wanted to send with the artwork. We completed 4 rounds of designs before landing on a final cover that she was very happy with.

Loren asked for a high-contrast, bold, minimalist cover that would be legible when read on a small screen. She asked for minimal color, and for her face to be the focus point in the designs. She didn’t want the cover to come across as feminine or read as a life-style podcast.

Loren wanted to see what layered shapes, textures, and noise would look like on these covers, not fully set on the minimalist look. She also wanted to see an option without an image of her on the cover. She didn't like any of these options, she felt the title wasn't bold enough and wanted to draw more attention to the type itself.

This round, I focused heavily on the type. She liked the look of altered letters and the feeling that she was getting something custom, without fully creating a unique typeface for her. I played with knotted cords which represented her chaotic news presentation style and the complicated issues she was discussing. I experimented with shapes that elicit a feeling of motion that represented the speed in which she is able to cover news. I also tilted letters to depict the comedy of her analysis and how she often discusses this country's quickly devolving state.

This final round was all about the final details and making sure that we communicated the energy of the podcast. To ensure the viewer understands it's a news show, we added the newspaper texture back in. Loren's dog, Willa, is also a big part of her daily podcast, so she wanted to add her into the background.
I showed her various levels of objects splayed around her Willa, I was fond of the third option that had the most scattered around her. I also found an image of a mic that matched the perspective slightly more, but Loren was set on the middle option. I was happy that she was happy.
